This Sunday (25th June), Panjab Radio will celebrate the inauguration of their new building, along with the 400th Martyr Day anniversary of the fifth Sikh Guru, Arjun Devji. The event, which is free for everyone, be held from 10am to 4pm, at the Panjab Radio studio on Springfield Road.

The event will be attended by Panjab Radio supporters from across the world, including internationally acclaimed Panjabi singer, Malkit Singh.

The day will commence with a religious ceremony after which listeners will be given the opportunity to interact with the famous singer as well as their favourite presenters while enjoying Guru Ka Langar (free community food), which will be served all day. The occasion will also be a chance for Panjab Radio to thank all members of the Panjabi and local community, for their ongoing support.

Good old ken Livingstone, Mayor of London, had this to say: ?Panjab Radio is to be commended for its work and achievement to date and for the positive and valuable contribution it makes to London?s multicultural community.?

Malkit Singh added: ?Panjab Radio is extremely special to the Panjabi community as it was the first Panjabi radio station helping to keep Panjabis in touch with their culture. I shall not be attending the event as a celebrity, but as a member of Panjab Radio.?
