Roop Tera The debut single ‘Roop Tera’, a song about love and temptation, and will feature on the band’s first album entitled ‘The Soul of Bollywood’. The single is a re-working of a classic 1969 Bollywood hit, ‘Roop Tera Mastana’ from Aradhana (Worship). The new version gives the song a shot of ‘Rhythm & Blues’, straight from the heart of soul legend Ray Charles.

Band front-man, Ajay Srivastava says of the debut single: “Botown is ready to spread the gospel of Bollywood and Soul! We have a completely new sound that’s a funky masala mix of Bollywood melodies and raw Soul grooves. It’s like the sound of different musical cultures getting it on!”

Having been a key player in the ‘underground’ British Asian music scene in the late nineties, Srivastava then went on to have huge success in the UK and India with his debut solo album ‘Kasam Se’ in 2006. He has worked with the likes of Jamiroquai, Kula Shaker and Gregory Isaacs, as well as performing with Bollywood ‘giant’ Shah Rukh Khan.

Formed in 2009, Botown has spent the past couple of years taking their truly exceptional ‘live’ experience to the masses, performing at sell-out gigs at prestigious venues, including The Jazz Café and Watermans Theatre. Now signed to EGEA/Alternate Music Distribution, Botown will be able to bring the Soul of Bollywood and the band’s refreshing sound to homes across the country.

‘Roop Tera’ is available to purchase from iTunes, Amazon & Emusic. The band’s forthcoming debut album, The Soul of Bollywood, will be released on 27th November 2010.
