TV personality Gethin Jones and actress and singer Preeya Kalidas launch Sky Ride Leicester |

The 9km route, which will be traffic-free between 10am-4pm, will take in iconic landmarks and sights including Leicester’s historic town hall and clock tower, before heading through the green open spaces of Abbey Park to the National Space Centre and Abbey Pumping Station. Participants will then loop back into the city centre via The Golden Mile. As well as having the opportunity to see their city in a new light, participants will be able to take part in a number of activities and entertainment taking place along the route and at the Sky Ride Entertainment Village in Abbey Park.
Joining the cyclists on the day will be TV personality, Gethin Jones, actress and singer, Preeya Kalidas, hip-hop, MC, R&B and soul singer, Mumzy Stranger and stars of the C4 BAFTA nominated TV reality show, ‘The Family’. As well as having the opportunity to cycle the route with the stars from the worlds of music and television, participants will also get the chance to meet Team Sky road riders from Britain’s new professional road cycling outfit.
