Mozambican drummer and vocalist Deodato Siquir is recognised as one of his country's greatest musical talents. At the age of 26, in 2001, he moved to Scandinavia and soon established as a side man to several established Scandinavian orchestras of jazz and world music. Siquir's debut album Balanço, released November 2007, straight away entered several Top 10 Charts, including the prestigious World Music Charts Europe, where it stayed for 3 months. Siquir will be joined by Phong Le on keyboards and Isildo Novelas on bass. Novelas, also from Mozambique, is an artist in his own right who has toured world-wide with his trio Novellas Progressive. In his band, Siquir grooves in a magic interaction with the electrifying performance full of pulsating rhythms, Jazz fusion and African beats. "The rich texture of his voice is just one of many qualities. Siquir's infectious smile and livewire live performances are likely to spread beyond the circle of admirers he has established."
