      BritBangla held it’s Annual Dinner at the Memories of India on the River in Chelsea on Saturday 7th December which was attended by professionals and entrepreneurs from all over UK with distinguished guests that included the GLA Member Murad Qureshi and Michael Macy Cultural Attache’ from the US Embassy.
BritBangla, a growing organisation with over one thousand members, highlights the achievements of British Bengalis and raises the Bengali profile in UK. BritBangla provides an opportunity for members to support and positively contribute to our community.
Michael Macy, Cultural Attache from US Embassy stated ‘Thank you so much for inviting me to the wonderful BritBangla event. It really was an amazing group of dynamic people.’
Among the talents and successful members in attendance were the singer Sarah Sayeed who has produced her new single, along with Ataur Rahman, Publisher of Urban Life Magazine and Niaz Alam, Deputy Director of Ethical Trade Initiative. The young proprietor of Ivory Mansion Shamsul Islam says’ It’s a brilliant opportunity for businesses like myself to network and meet amazing fellow colleagues’.
Barrister Zacharias Miah, tenant of the Richard Ferguson QC, is establishing a new law society ‘BritBangla Lawyers Group’. The aim of the group is to promote Bengali lawyers and assist in legal training contracts, pupilage and jobs in law.
BritBangla plays an active part in supporting charity fundraising for Bangladesh Flood and Cyclone appeal along with it’s support of an orphanage in Sylhet, Bangladesh and sponsorship of a child via Plan International.
